May 5th, 2012 - Klint traveled to Illinois and Kentucky over the weekend to enter a pair of 1$10,000-to-win, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) events at tracks that he had never seen before. On Friday night the tour was able to dodge early morning rain to sanction an event at Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois). A talent-laden field of 48 competitors registered for battle, and Klint would find himself behind the eight ball early in the night after finishing eighth in his heat race, which pinned him deep in a b-main. In the b-main he would fail to reach a transfer spot, bringing his night to an early end.

Looking to rebound from Friday night's disappointment the team traveled to Paducah International Raceway (Paducah, Kentucky) on Saturday night as another loaded field of 42 drivers were on hand. The night would start much better for Byars as he raced to a second place finish in his heat race, which locked him into the fifth starting spot for the 50 lap feature. Klint would narrowly evade disaster on the opening lap when second row starters Don O'Neal and Shannon Babb tangled in turn three, collecting several other cars. With the second row starters eliminated, Klint started third on the restart and would battle for the second spot during the first half of the race. However, as the race progressed the bottom groove, where Klint was racing, began to go away, and he faded to an eleventh place finish at th checkered flag.

Even though it wasn't the finish that Byars would've liked he was able to open a lot of eyes with his performance against a solid field of competitors at a track that he had never even seen. Full results are available at www.LucasDirt.com.

April 14th, 2012 - The second night of the inaugural Spring Throw Down was held on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) as forty-three cars registered for battle. Klint qualified fastest in his group to earn the pole position for the third heat race. He would go on to finish second in the heat to lock into the sixth starting spot for the $8,000-to-win, 50 lap feature. Early in the feature he would race his way to as high as the fifth position before sliding back late in the event to a 13th place finish. Full results are available at www.MagnoliaDirt.com.

April 13th, 2012 - On Friday night Klint entered the opening round of the inaugural Spring Throw Down at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) as 35 cars entered the $2,000-to-win event. Byars began his night by qualifying fastest in his group and fastest overall to lock into the pole position for the 30 lap, feature event. He was joined on the front row by Rodney Wing, and as the feature went green Wing shot to the lead with Byars in second. A few laps later Ronny Lee Hollingsworth would slip past for the second spot as Byars fell to third. As the race approached its middle stages Klint would slip as far back as the fourth spot before mounting a late race charge to the front of the pack. He would get to the second spot with five laps to go and made a strong run at the leader, Hollingsworth, in the closing laps only to come up a couple of car lengths short at the checkered flag with a second place finish. March 31st, 2012 - The weekend found the K&K Motorsports team entering a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) events in Mississippi and Texas. On Friday night the team was in action at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) as 45 cars registered for battle. After qualifying fifth fastest in his group, Klint started third in his heat race, and advanced to a second place finish behind race winner, Jimmy Owens, to lock into the sixth starting spot for the 50 lap feature. For the first half of the main event Byars would be just outside of the top five, but as the race entered its latter stages he worked his way into the top five. In the closing laps he was up to the third spot and began pressuring Don O'Neal for the second position. Unfortunately with just a few laps remaining Byars would get sideways in turn one, resulting in the caution flag. He was credited with the caution and instead of joining the tail of the field, he headed pitside to a disappointing 18th place finish.

On Saturday night Byars entered his first-ever event in the state of Texas as he entered another LOLMDS event at Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas). Twenty-eight cars would enter the event, and while he would register a solid, qualifying lap, he would be plagued by mechanical issues throughout the night. He would fail to qualify for the main event, but would receive a provisional as the fastest car not in the show. He retired early to a 22nd place finish. Full results from both events are available at www.LucasDirt.com.

As the race went green Byars would battle in the top five as he slowly began to work his way towards the front of the pack. Late in the race Klint would make his way to the second spot as he set his sights on the leader, Bub McCool. With the race approaching its closing laps Byars began applying heavy pressure to the leader, Bub McCool, and would make several attempts to gain the top spot. Despite his best efforts Klint would fall just short of claiming the win as he recorded a second place finish to McCool. Full results are available at www.StateSeries.com.

He was credited with a disappointing third place finish. Full results are available at www.StateSeries.com.
